Josh embarked on his professional career in 1999 after completing Wendelstedt Umpire School. His first assignment was in the Northern League, before working in the Gulf Coast League in 2000. He was then promoted to the South Atlantic League in 2001, followed by the Mid-West League and Florida State League. In 2003, Josh worked in Double-A in the Texas League. He transferred to the Eastern League in 2004, and was then promoted to Triple-A in 2005. Josh worked in the International League until 2007. Josh has worked MLB spring training games, as well as exhibition games for the New York Mets, Florida Marlins, and Baltimore Orioles. Josh was the home plate umpire for the inaugural game in Marlins Park between the Marlins and Hurricanes. He instructed at the Harry Wendelstedt Umpire School from 2001 to 2006. Josh's skill in instruction and evaluation is quite an asset to FCU.
Josh has umpired college baseball since 1999, currently working in the SEC, ACC, Sun Belt, Conference USA, American Athletic, and Atlantic Sun conferences. He is married and has two energetic sons.
